The Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) has opened applications for its expanded mentorship program.
The broadened program will not only foster mentor-mentee relationships but enable peer-to-peer ones, too. CAEM says it hopes the change will create a greater sense of community during these unprecedented times.
Launched in 2019, the mentorship program matches leaders in Canada’s event and exposition community with emerging business professionals to inspire and enable them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
To apply, mentors must have numerous years of industry experience and be eager to pass on knowledge to the next generation. Mentees must have less than four years’ experience in the industry or a business-related role and identify as a high-potential employee.
Each mentor and mentee will interact for a minimum of 12 hours over the course of a year, or one hour per month. These hours can be completed over the phone, through e-mail or in-person when it is safe to do so.
The cost to participate in the program is $25, paid by mentees only. The deadline for applications is June 4.
Mentors and mentees will be notified of matching by mid-June, and the relationship will run from June 2020 to the same month the following year.
