Party Bus 101: Getting the most from your mobile event

You’ve booked the bus, set the date, and sent the invites. Now that your party bus is ready to roll, here are some tips to get the most out of your road trip.

CircusBus1Setting the stage

There’s a party bus for every crowd. Whether you’re taking the team on a multi-stop adventure, providing transportation for a city-wide pub-crawl, hosting a children’s birthday party, or treating the team to an upscale night out, there are ample ways to set a specific tone. Consult with a party bus planner in advance to discuss your riders’ preferences. This will ensure the ride that pulls up is equipped with features, décor, and extra touches that match your vision.

“We want to know these details upfront so we can help our clients create the vision they’re going for,” says Chris Husbands, Founder of Circusbus Toronto. “Laser lights and fog effects come standard on every bus, but we can also send out a bus with a live DJ and club lighting or, for a more upscale event, we can send one of our CB+ buses with hardwood floors, stylish artwork, and custom LED walls that move up and down over the windows for greater customer privacy.”

Need help planning your destinations? Ask your party bus planner for suggestions and any special deals your group can receive through partner affiliations.

Circusbus, for example, has exclusive arrangements with a number of unique venues and activity destinations throughout the GTA. They include the Battle Sports arena, Pursuit OCR adult obstacle course, BATL axe-throwing facility, North Beach Volleyball venue, bubble soccer, paintball, and other team-building opportunities.

Let the games begin

CircusBus3Want to keep the party going between stops? Ask your party bus rep about what games and activities they run throughout your trip.

“The party bus experience is about keeping riders engaged and interacting with between destinations,” says Chris. “For example, we offer an entire game show riders can play during their trip, as well as mobile Escape Room or Karaoke experience.”

If unstructured fun is more your speed, every Circusbus comes equipped with retro videos games and the option to include a ball pit or other entertainment options.

Prepare your tunes

Music plays a major role in setting a party bus atmosphere. Circusbus has the option of including a personal DJ, but if your groups prefer to take control, let the driver know beforehand so they can prepare the right audio equipment.

Each bus is equipped with the ability to play audio off of pre-loaded USB sticks; however, the option exists to play music from mobile devices via Bluetooth or wired connections.

Protect your belongings

CircusBus5Party buses are in high demand. This means that unless you book for exclusive hourly use, you may not be the only group using the ride throughout the night. Therefore, remind your guests to take their belongings with them between stops so that they don’t run the risk of losing them.

Of course, says Chris, there is always the option of renting a bus all to yourself: “Normally, people will rent us out for a portion of the day, but we do have an hourly exclusive option which reserves it for them alone and lets them leave their belongings on board for the duration of the rental. That allows for a bit more freedom and more flexibility when it comes to planning the trip.”
