The promise of new sights, surroundings, and adventures can be a powerful draw for event invitees. This is especially true in Québec City where a mix of historic ambiance and fresh experiences continues to draw tourists and event planners from across the globe.
Québec City’s most recent draws include several new venues throughout the city. The Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury, for example, offers a blend of cutting-edge amenities and vintage atmosphere, and hosts large-scale functions of up to 1,300 guests. Originally built in 1887, the Chateau-style venue was re-opened in April 2018 after undergoing a $100 million reconstruction and has since reclaimed its place as one of the region’s most unique event spaces.
“The Armoury has a décor that can simply not be found anywhere else in Canada,” says Ms. Johanne Caron, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hôtel Château Laurier Québec and the George V, manager of the Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury. “The fact that it is situated right in Old Québec and only minutes away from the Québec City Convention Centre makes the Armoury a definite must for any event planner looking to create a one-of-a-kind experience for delegates.”
Also new is the city’s Entourage-sur-le-lac Hotel, a four-star resort situated minutes from the downtown core along the banks of Lac Beauport. Opened in September 2017, the venue caters to the “bleisure” (business and pleasure) travellers with spaces, activities, and amenities designed to strike the ideal balance between work and play.
“We don’t just want to offer activities at a resort. Rather, we want to create a structured environment and offer holistic services given by professionals so that event delegates can truly improve their well-being—even if they are at the resort for business,” said Mr. Alain April, Co-Owner and General Manager of Québec City’s Le Bonne Entente Hotel, who oversaw the resort’s development.
Combined with the new Travelodge Quebec and other attractions, these latest additions bring new flavours to Québec City’s growing portfolio and, more importantly, add even more options for event planners both new and returning.
