What’s new in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions this year?
Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, or MICE, have all experienced strong growth year-over-year, with continued success. This is in part due to successfully utilized technology, entertainment, food and beverage and corporate gifting choices at meetings and events.
The meeting industry market is a thriving market with spending set to rise globally as hotels and airlines enjoy record performances this year. Incentive travel is also growing, as 36 per cent of travel industry professionals expect to spend upwards of $4,000 this year, compared to 14 per cent in 2015. Meanwhile, conferences and trade shows in the United States have experienced growth of 3.6 per cent annually between 2010 and 2015, and exhibitions and trade shows are expected to grow by 2.4 per cent in 2016, led by building, construction and home repair shows.
